knack factory

We are located in the rolling foothills of southwestern Maine…minutes from historic Cornish village where you will find shopping & amazing restaurants. We happen to be partial to one of them but you might already know that…or maybe you’ve enjoyed what we do at krista’s restaurant & that is what has brought you here. We are quite proud of our special little community & would love to share it with you…And support it in the process. While we have lots to do close-by, we are also only 35 min to North Conway, NH & 45 min to Portland, ME & the Maine coast. Hiking, biking, lakes, rivers, skiing, snowmobiling….or just plain hunkering down & enjoying no activities at all except…the quiet, the wildlife & the recharging…it’s your getaway…

dining…close-by favorites

There are sooo many places to dine in our great state…Portland is FULL of restaurants, as is every town along the way…North Conway has plenty as well. There are other places close to home but these are the spots we frequent:

krista’s restaurant: Yes, we are partial to this one. Hearty, eclectic & casual…but not too casual! Come visit, make sure you let us know you are staying at the guesthouse & please make a reservation in advance of your stay if you would like to join us for dinner. We also offer take-out via online ordering, so if you would rather stay home…: 207-625-3600

bay haven lobster pound: A Maine staple…try them for a classic twin lobster dinner, a pile of fried clams, go crazy with a fisherman’s platter. online ordering for take-out 207-625-7303

apple acres farm: A mile down the road! Great wood-fired pizza for take-out in winter, weekends only. In season visit their farm restaurant after picking apples & gorging on apple cider donuts, fudge, and ice cream. 207-625-4777

stone mountain arts center: Our friends at SMAC are killing it with their tree house cafe for dine in & curbside. About a 25 min drive. Reservations for dine in, menu changes for each weekend. And please please, let music happen in full sometime very soon…when it does you will definitely want to coordinate your stay with a show! 207-935-7292

village variety: Not quite dining but an important necessity…and sometimes you don’t want to make dinner last minute or want to grab something on the run. Amazing classic pizza & lots of other sandwich options. Snacks, gas, beer & booze...all to go. 207-625-8417
